Day 1: Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by a tour representative and driven to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. During the 55 km journey, you'll stop at Chuzom, a cultural landmark where the Paro and Thimphu rivers meet. After checking into your hotel in Thimphu and taking a brief rest, you will begin your city sightseeing. The first stop will be Tashichho Dzong, a stunning fortress built in the 17th century, which serves as the seat of the Chief Abbot and the King's throne room. Afterward, enjoy a walking exploration of the market regions and Main Street of Thimphu. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing and Transfer to Paro
After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thimphu, starting with a visit to Kuensel Phodrang, also known as Buddha Point, which features the largest Buddha statue in Bhutan and offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Continue to the King's Memorial Chorten, a revered religious site where locals and pilgrims gather to pray and spin prayer wheels. Next, visit the Textile Museum, which showcases Bhutanese textiles, local dresses, and weaving techniques, followed by the Folk Heritage Museum, which exhibits rural life and folk heritage. After lunch, you will check out of your hotel and take a scenic road trip to Paro. Upon arrival, check into a hotel and then visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower now converted into the National Museum. Conclude the day with a walking tour to Rinpung Dzong, known for its architectural beauty. Overnight stay at a hotel in Paro.
Day 3: Exploring Paro
After breakfast, you will embark on a journey through the Paro Valley to visit Drukgyel Dzong, a 17th-century fortress now in ruins. Nearby, you will have the opportunity to explore traditional Bhutanese farmhouses. On the return trip to Paro, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, a 7th-century temple built by Tibetan ruler Songtsen Gampo, where you can enjoy stunning views of Mt. Jhomolhari. Spend the evening exploring Paro’s city center or shopping. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Hike to Tiger's Nest
After breakfast, prepare for a hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest. This sacred site is perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the valley floor and is considered one of Bhutan’s most important pilgrimage sites. Enjoy a guided walk through the pine forest leading up to the monastery. Later in the day, visit Ta Dzong and Paro Rinpung Dzong before heading back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel. The tour representative will drive you to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Bhutan journey.
