Day 1: Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by a tour representative and taken on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. En route, visit Chuzom, where the Paro and Thimphu Rivers converge. Once in Thimphu, check into your hotel and rest briefly before embarking on a city sightseeing tour. Visit Tashichho Dzong, a fortress of glorious religion that serves as the seat of the Chief Abbot, the Monarch's throne room, and other important offices. End the day with a walking tour of the market areas and Main Street before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing and Transfer to Paro
After breakfast, drive to Kuensel Phodrang, also known as Buddha Point, which houses the largest Buddha statue in Bhutan and offers stunning valley views. Next, visit the King’s Memorial Chorten, a prominent religious site where locals and pilgrims perform rituals and prayers. Continue to the Textile Museum to explore Bhutanese textiles, traditional dresses, and weaving techniques. The final stop in Thimphu is the Folk Heritage Museum, showcasing rural life and folk traditions through various exhibits and demonstrations. After lunch, depart for Paro, where you will check into your hotel. Visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower now converted into the National Museum, and enjoy a walking tour to Rinpung Dzong, known for its impressive architecture. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Paro.
Day 3: Exploring Paro
After breakfast, embark on an excursion to the Tiger's Nest Monastery, also known as Taktsang Monastery, perched on a 900-meter cliffside. This sacred site is one of Bhutan's most revered monasteries. In the afternoon, drive through the Paro Valley to visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a 17th-century fortress. On the return journey to Paro, stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, a 7th-century temple built by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. Spend the evening exploring Paro’s city center or shopping before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
